England Counties call up for Robinson

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce that, off the back of a very good season for the club in which he started every game, full back Henry Robinson will represent England Counties on next month’s tour of Romania. The fixtures – against CSM Bucuresti and Romania A – take place on Friday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 9, respectively in Romania at the Stadionul Olimpia and Staidonul National "Arcul de Triumf

Head Coach John Newton said “it’s a great opportunity for Henry following on from his great performances this year for Mowden Park we wish Henry the best of luck on the tour. Henry has been great for us over the last 3 seasons and he has now got his reward. It will be a great chance for ‘Henners’ to experience rugby elsewhere and learn with some very good players around him.”

The news isn’t all good unfortunately as we say a fond farewell to Henry following 3 great years at the club. Henry has decided to take the opportunity to begin a career with a job in the south back home where he is originally from.

Speaking of the move Henry said “I have had 3 wonderful years here at Mowden it is a superb club with great people. I was originally attracted to the club because of the brand of rugby they played under Danny & John however it has grown much more and I as well as all the other players have been taken in by the Mowden family it is a great place to be but it’s time for me to follow another career path whilst still playing rugby”

Director of Rugby Danny Brown said “I, on behalf of everyone here at Mowden Park, would like to thank Henry for 3 great years with the club. He has been great to work with over the time and has brought a huge amount not just on the pitch but also off it. He is an absolute crowd favourite and he will be missed however we wish him the best of luck in the future and I am sure we will see him very soon….!”
