Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of fly half Warren Seals from Yorkshire Carnegie. The South African returns for his third spell at the club, having first joined DMP in November 2015. Mowden Park player coach Garry Law was delighted to be bringing the fly half back to the club: “We’re really pleased to have Warren with us next season as I'm sure many supporters will be. Having been with us previously and then for a couple of games last season we know the quality that he can bring to the team and we are looking forward to him joining us for pre- season.”
Seals returns to the club following a season with Yorkshire Carnegie, which also included a brief loan spell at Premiership side Wasps. The 25 year-old re-joins the DMP squad having scored 115 points in 20 previous appearances for the club. Director of Rugby Danny Brown was equally pleased to see Seals returning to Darlington: “Re-signing Warren after his spell with Leeds is fantastic for us. He has gained a great deal of experience whilst at the championship finalists and he will be a huge asset for us next season. Not only is Warren physical but he is a very intelligent player who reads the game well.”
The South African becomes the fourth new signing of the summer, joining scrum half Matt Dudman (Rotherham Titans) as well as lock pairing Dan Preston-Routledge (Yorkshire Carnegie) and Jake Brady (Harrogate RUFC). Brown was happy with how the squad was being built for next season: “I am very pleased with the way the squad is coming together for next season. John Newton and Garry Law are working hard to ensure we get the right players in place.”
Fans can see Warren and the rest of the DMP squad in action next season by joining the Mowden Family and purchasing their 2017/18 memberships.
