The Utility Back will arrive from Rotherham Titans on a two year deal having spent three years at the South Yorkshire club and can count Otley and Wharfedale amongst his former clubs.

Coach Garry Law said of his arrival: “We are pleased that Joel has committed to the club for 2 years.

“Having played in some big games during his time with Rotherham in the championship we are hoping his experience and professionalism will rub off on the squad.

“Joel will offer great competition for the starting 13 shirt and with the ability to cover 12 and wing I'm sure he will play a big part for us next season and we look forward to his arrival.”

Gill said: “After chatting to Garry Law about the ambitions of the club moving forward, I am delighted to have signed for Darlington Mowden Park.

“From What I have herad there’s a top set of lads who are doing well this season, I can’t wait to get stuck in and see what the team can achieve next season.”
