What is it?
Mowden Park in the Community are proud to continue this programme for young people which uses sport and physical activity to help develop and hone leadership and employability skills whilst helping themselves and others stay physically active.

Young people undertaking a qualification in Sports Leadership will learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead basic physical activities to young people and their peers within the community.

The courses involve both guided and peer-to-peer learning and supervised leadership to ensure that young people have all the skills they need to lead basic physical activities to other people. The course is accredited by Sports Leaders UK.

Volunteering can be done here at the Arena with Mowden Park and various events which we may host. Or participants can do their volunteering in different places if they wish as long as it is observed and signed on by staff who can be contacted for confirmation. Some volunteering hours will also be incorporated into the programme.
