Having supported the club since 2012, Acorn Dairy have extended their sponsorship of Darlington Mowden Park for another season. The family-run business has been farming at Archdeacon Newton, near Darlington, since 1928 and four generations later they are still heavily involved in dairy farming. They now supply a range of organic dairy products to businesses as well as direct to customers via their doorstep delivery service.
Asked about their ongoing partnership with the club, Acorn Dairy Director Graham Tweddle commented: “We have been proud supporters of Mowden Park for many years, particularly the Minis division. As a family we get a real sense of pride watching the minis running out with Acorn Logos on their shirts and feel there is a natural link between organic local produce and healthy rugby players.”
As well as their continued branding on the club’s minis shirts, Acorn Dairy will sponsor two new members of the Men’s 1st XV squad this season, both of whom have come through the club’s pathway. Matty Siddle and Rory Forster have both been involved in the squad’s pre-season preparations having come through the age groups at the club.
DMP Chairman Mick Birch added: “Over the years Acorn Dairy have been brilliant supporters of all things DMP and I’m delighted that they have continued their sponsorship this season. The Tweddle family are a big part of the club and it’s great to see their passion for supporting grassroots rugby. Their support for the minis in particular is hugely important as it provides the building blocks for the fantastic sport we all know and love. We’re very grateful for everything they do for us and we look forward to working alongside them for many years to come.”
