DMP Elizabethans traveled to Barnard Castle on Saturday, where a strong and aggressive home side handed them a 31-3 loss. The game started with promise for DMPE, as Sam Anderson slotted a well-taken penalty kick early in the first half, putting the visitors on the scoreboard. However, Barnard Castle's physicality and structured play quickly turned the tide in their favor.

The hosts demonstrated their strength across the field, capitalizing on opportunities and keeping DMPE on the back foot. Despite their best efforts, our lads struggled with structure at times which allowed Barnard Castle to build and maintain momentum throughout the match. Nevertheless, the Elizabethans as always showed great heart, battling on until the final whistle.

A standout performance for DMPE came from front row Alex Coates, who was named Man of the Match by Barnard Castle for his solid work in the No. 1 shirt. His determination and effort in the face of a challenging contest did not go unnoticed. Well done Alex!

As the team heads into the Christmas break, the focus will be on recharging and resetting. The second half of the season presents an opportunity to come back stronger, hopefully with a fully fit squad ready to tackle the challenges ahead with renewed energy, determination and mindset.
