Congratulations to Aodan, Danny, Joe, Ben, Jake, Tom, Max and Danny who represented Hummersknott Academy in the finals of the Regional Schools Year 9 Competition.

Having qualified in 2nd place in their group earlier in September (with the help of Adam and Tom B), where around 20 schools were represented, they played the top 2 teams from the other the group, winning both matches comfortably, 6-1 and 5-1. Thier PE teacher Mr Souter commented that it was the best he had seen them play.

They were all set to play Egglescliffe in the final, when it was announced by the organisers that rather than playing the final group game, the result from September (a 2-0 win to Egglescliffe) would be carried forward, declaring Egglescliffe the Champions and Hummersknott the Runners-Up.
This was a disappointing way to end what had been a great 2 nights of school rugby.

Well done to all players involved. Hopefully next year you can go one better!
