A look ahead to Saturday's National One trip to Dillingham Park (3pm Kick Off).

Ampthill and District Rugby Club was founded in 1950 and they play their home fixtures at Dilingham Park in Bedfordshire. Ampthill and Mowden have met on several occasions but probably the most historic fixture was the National 2 play-off final at the end of the 2013/14 season when Mowden scored in the last minute of extra-time. The following season, Ampthill joined Mowden in National 1 after winning the play-off final 19-10.

So far, this season, Ampthill are currently in 3rd position with 16 wins, 4 draws and 6 losses, leaving them on 91 points. Mowden sit in 2nd position with 97 points making this weekend a huge clash for second place come the end of the season. Ampthill’s top points scorer is James Pritchard with 164 points and their top try scorer with 18 tries is Nigel Baker.

The last meeting between Mowden and Ampthill ended in a 21-15 victory to Mowden at the Arena, with a last minute Adam Radwan try clinching the win for DMP.

This Saturday will be a mouth-watering fixture with both sides aiming to finish the season in 2nd position. Mowden have picked up a run of form winning the last 3 after a blip in performance. They will look to continue this streak when they travel to Dilingham Park to take on Ampthill.
