Darlington Mowden Park welcome Leeds Tykes to the Arena on Friday night in Round 8 of the National One season. With just 2 points separating the two sides, it promises to be another thrilling contest under the lights.
Friday's visitors come into the game in 10th place, boasting a similar record to DMP after the opening 7 fixtures. Consecutive wins over Esher, Chinnor and Hull saw Jon Callard's side climb into the top half of the table, before last weekend's home defeat to Bishop's Stortford. The Tykes squad includes a number of familiar faces, including former DMP players Jake Brady, Ben Dixon and Grayson Maguire.
Mowden meanwhile suffered a last minute defeat at the hands of Moseley at Billesley Common, despite a hat-trick for Morgan Passman. DMP had trailed by 18 points with just half an hour to play, before 3 tries edged them ahead with minutes to play. A late Moseley penalty denied Mowden maximum points, but Garry Law's side were able to take 2 bonus points in defeat to leapfrog their northern rivals.
Last season's meetings between the two sides ended in one win apiece. Their first clash of the season saw Mowden edge a last minute win at West Park Leeds thanks to a late Talite Vaioleti try, before the Tykes took maximum points from the reverse fixture at the Arena in a 15-30 victory.
Friday's game promises to be another fiercely fought contest between two sides looking to climb the National One table. Tickets are available online or on the day, priced at £12 for adults, £8 for members and FREE for Under 16s. Click here to get your tickets online.
