Saturday sees the return of National One as Mowden travel to Rams in Round 1. This weekend’s hosts finished 2nd last season, closely behind champions Chinnor, and will provide a tough test to the new campaign for Garry Law’s side.

Rams have largely enjoyed the better of previous clashes between the two sides, winning 6 of 8 since their promotion in 2019. The last meeting at Old Bath Road saw Mowden take a memorable away win in November, with DMP edging a 36-41 thriller in Round 8.

Looking ahead to their opening fixture, Director of Rugby Garry Law commented: "Looking forward to getting a new season underway with lots of new faces and no tougher game than arguably the league favourites away from home."

"We've played Rams enough times now to know how well drilled they are but also that they have some x factor players also. We will have to gel quickly and perform very well to come away with the win. We will take encouragement from our last visit there but know this is a completely different season and I'm sure they will be targeting certain areas of our game to disrupt best they can. We will have to be very disciplined on all aspects of our game to give ourselves a chance to get the W. Ready to get off to a positive start to season 24/25."
