Ahead of Saturday’s pre-season opener against Hawick, Darlington Mowden Park are pleased to announce the signing of centre Harry Yates. The former Harrogate back has already linked up with the squad, and will be available for selection for this weekend’s trip to Mansfield Park. Asked about joining the club, Harry said: “I am excited to join this prestigious club in a highly competitive league. Looking forward to a great season ahead.”

22 year-old Yates brings further depth to the DMP backline, having previously represented Harrogate and Northumbria University. A dynamic centre, Harry has also represented England University 7s during his time in the North East.

Speaking about the latest addition to his squad, Director of Rugby Garry Law added: “Harry has came on board mid pre-season and is proving to be a hard running centre able to cover both 12/13. He will bring a different dynamic to what we have had of late and we’re looking forward to seeing Harry getting fully up to speed and imposing his game.”
