The highlight of the season was a brilliant performance from a scratch team against Houghton. All the training is definitely paying off, good quick hands and continuous pressure going forward was evident all over the pitch. With some really well worked tries which saw Meg Anderson crossing the try line for her first try for the team. What was great to see was 100% commitment in the contact area with very few tackles missed and some great clearances at the break down. Several hard carries by Hope and Imogen saw good metres gained with ball in hand. With Eve running hard in the forwards saw all Mowden players setting the standard. In the ethos of sportsmanship Houghton were down a couple of players to even up the teams Faith went over along with Ellie from Billingham, both put in a tremendous shift, ran hard and tackled hard. A great game of rugby from everyone.
