

The early exchanges saw Billingham enjoy the lion's share of territory and possession however they were unable to break down a resolute DMP defence.

DMP's confidence was now sky high and they always looked the most likely to score, however they were still being challenged hard by a Billingham team who refused to give up.
Eventually DMP got what proved to be the decisive Try when Graham broke through their line and raced away from the pursuing defenders to go over the line. (Furness conversion) 28-5
With the match looking to be over as a contest Billingham's frustration became visible. DMP stuck to the task and kept their discipline as tempers flared.
Billingham then put together a nice passage of play to eventually get round the DMP defence and go over in the corner to reduce the deficit.(conversion missed) 28-10
The nerves of the DMP coaches and players was then severely tested as Billingham, buoyed by their earlier score added another Try (conversion missed) to make it 28-15
The potential comeback was brought to halt as DMP regained their composure and were back in the ascendancy to see out the game and claim their first victory over Billingham in a number of years.
