3. Senior Players

Senior Player's Code of Conduct

Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Football Club (DMPRFC) is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that players should, at all times, show respect; they are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they have about any aspect of the club with the Senior Squad Manager.
The following Code is designed to promote the elements of enjoyment and satisfaction, the contribution that can be made by you as a player and to remind all people involved with the game that there are certain standards of fair play and conduct that should be
maintained at all times.

Players shall:

• Recognise and appreciate the efforts made by coaches, match officials and administrators in providing the opportunity for you to play and enjoy the game of
rugby.
• Keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform your coach or team manager if you are going to be late or cannot attend.
• Be responsible for maximising your own fitness and conditioning.
• Understand the values of loyalty and commitment to the team and to DMPRFC.
• Recognise that every player has a right to expect their involvement in rugby to be safe and free from all types of harassment or abuse.
• If as an individual or group of players you feel that you are not being treated in a manner that is acceptable, then you have a right to inform a member of the Board of Directors.
• Be paid up members of DMPRFC.
• Promote the reputation of the Game and take all possible steps to prevent it from being brought into disrepute.
• Not commit a Doping Offence as defined in RFU Anti-Doping Provisions.

At all times, whether on, or off the field you are expected to:

• Listen and act on any instructions given to you by your Team/Tour Manager or Coach responsible for any activity/pursuit you may be involved in.
• Be responsible and safety conscious at all times.
• Respect other people and their possessions.
• If staying in hotels or other accommodation treat it respectfully, do not damage or steal anything.
• Report any damage to the Team/Tour Manager or a Coach.
• Treat with respect the oppositions' clubhouse and traditions.
• Set an example to young players.

When Playing

• Play because you want to do so, not to please coaches or others.
• Remember that skill development, fun and enjoyment are the most important parts of the game.
• Work equally hard for yourself and your team - both will then benefit.
• Recognise good play by ALL players on your team and by your opponents.
• Be a sportsman win or lose.
• Play to the Laws of the Game and accept, without question, all the referee's decisions.
• Control your emotions. Verbal or physical abuse of teammates, opponents, match officials or spectators IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
• Treat all players, as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of any player.
• Leave the changing rooms as you find them.

Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Football Club (DMPRFC) is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that players, coaches, administrators, and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect; they are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they have about any aspect of the club with our Safeguarding Officer.

As a playing member of DMPRFC you are expected to abide by the following club rules:

• Play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.

• Appreciate and respect opponents, referees, coaches, spectators and parental support etc

• Be organised and disciplined both on and off the pitch.

• Be a team player and hold a positive attitude towards your team mates.

• Keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform your coach or team manager if you are going to be late or cannot attend.

• Wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with team coach.

• Give your best efforts at training, and give your best efforts to attend training.

• Pay annual membership subscription (Currently £10.00 per season) and subs promptly. (Currently £2.50 per session)

• Members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club.

• Members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.

• Leave the changing rooms as you found them, ensure showers are turned off.

• No boots or dirty clothing are allowed in the Clubhouse.

• After games try to dress in a smart fashion - Club shirt & tie / polo shirt, trousers and shoes.

• Treat others, as you would like them to treat you.

If all the above points are followed and common sense prevails throughout, yourselves as players should gain the greatest reward of all - enjoyment.
